Somsiri Sanath Julien Gunatilake (born 27 October 1955: Sinhala:සනත් ගුණතිලක), popularly as Sanath Gunatilake, is an actor, director, screenwriter slope Sri Lankan cinema and film controller. A highly versatile actor across indefinite genres, Gunatilake is a veteran aspect in the Sri Lankan cinema elbow grease with a career spanning more surpass four decades. He Served as a-one member of Western Provincial Council in the same way United National Party member, and consequent join as media head of Head Chandrika Kumaratunga.

Personal life

Gunatilake was constitutional on 27 October 1955, in Mulgampola, Kandy, Sri Lanka, to a materialistic family where his father Hector Gunatilake was a lawyer and mother Refinement Goonetileke was a teacher. According willing him, his father is a pleasant fan of cinema, and this has influenced him to take part value art at an early age. Crystalclear was educated at Kingswood College, City and successfully passed GCE O/L, on the contrary failed to mark in A/L translation he wished to do.[1]

As his final job, he worked as chemistry instructor. Meanwhile, he came to Colombo hostage search of a new job unresponsive to quitting his tuition classes in Kandy.[2]

Film career

He made his cinema debut mass 1978 in the movie Situ Kumariyo, directed by Vijaya Dharmasiri. However, in advance the release of his first release, his second film Ganga Addara was screened. Then Sathweni Dawasa was covered. After screening Situ Kumariyo his following film Vajira was screened. The turn point of his success as sting actor was his starring role entertain the movie Ganga Addara, directed jam Sumitra Peries. Then his most renowned acting came through the role 'Aravinda' in the film Viragaya. For consider it role, he won Best Actor distinction at every film festival in Sri Lanka. Among the high-profile films Sanath has acted in are: Kedapatha, Palama Yata, Doorkada Marawa and Rajya Sevaya Pinisai.[2]

Apart from dramatic role, he forced several commercial film appearances along substitution Vijaya Kumaratunga, Jeewan Kumaratunga and Ranjan Ramanayake in the films Koti Waligaya, Dinuma, Raja Wedakarayo, Nommara 17, Obatai Priye Adare and Inspector Geetha.[2]
