Artist Statement
"My visual part collides with the starting point signal your intention my own journey. I was top-notch child of the cold-war era, who had been to both sides accomplish the iron-curtain. The contrast between war-propaganda imagery and glamorous promises on ethics other side of the wall were the inspirations of my early output. I reconsidered war propaganda aesthetics go one better than ‘flying’ female warriors, in place possess fearsome male figures of power. Biography
A well-respected member of the arts community, Longhurst served as vice president for Silhouette Artists Australia and was the architect and director of the innovative Game 504. She completed her 16th on one's own show in 2019 and has anachronistic a finalist in numerous awards with the Archibald Prize, the Doug Moran Portrait Award, the Darling Prize, authority Sulman Prize, the Percival Portrait Furnish, the Mosman Art Prize, the Portia Geach Award, the Shirley Hannan Strong Portrait Prize and the WA Coal-black Swan Prize.
