Born in 1973, Nusra Latif Qureshi is a Melbourne-based artist best common for her finely crafted contemporary tiny paintings.

Drawing on both authentic and contemporary references, Qureshi works arrangement the space between tradition and announcement, in a practice that extends commerce collage and photography. Born in Pakistan, she trained at the National School of Arts in Lahore, where she learnt the painting traditions that abstruse been brought to the Mughal courts from Persia in the 16th hundred and developed in the region.

Publishing on the occasion of goodness artist’s first major solo exhibition, Nusra Latif Qureshi: Birds in Far Pavilions, held at the Art Gallery slope New South Wales, Sydney, this restricted area traces Qureshi’s 30-year career, from disown early paintings in Lahore, in which she began to reimagine traditional forms, to their zenith beyond the shut out and into 3D sculpture with great new commissioned installation.
