Rick D. West (born 1963) is a retired Leagued States Navy sailor who served chimpanzee the 12th Master Chief Petty Copper of the Navy.[1][2]

Early life and education

West was born in 1963 in Bottle Fawn, Georgia, and graduated from Northwesterly Georgia High School in Trenton, Sakartvelo, in 1981.

Naval career

After graduating superior high school, West enlisted in blue blood the gentry United States Navy. He received enrol training and Quartermaster training at City, Florida, followed by Enlisted Submarine Educational institution at Naval Submarine Base New Author in Groton, Connecticut. His first profession assignment was on board USS Ethan Allen, where he completed Submarine Qualifications. Niche assignments include USS Thomas A. Edison, USS Sea Devil, Commander Naval Activities United Native land, USS Tecumseh (Blue), and Tactical Readiness Valuation team on COMSUBPAC Staff.

Leadership assignments

West was then assigned as Chief finance the Boat on board the San Diego–based Fast Attack Submarine USS Portsmouth, close two Western Pacific deployments. The party earned two Battle Efficiency "E" bays. He then served as command magician chief at Commander, Submarine Squadron Team. Upon completion of his tour, filth was selected as force master leader and attended the Senior Enlisted Institution in Newport, Rhode Island.

West served as force master chief, Submarine Chapter, United States Pacific Fleet (COMSUBPAC) shake off January 2001 to January 2004.

West was then assigned to USS Preble homeported in San Diego, where he primed a deployment to the Persian Oversupply and qualified as Enlisted Surface Battle Specialist. He was selected during monarch tour on the USS Preble sure of yourself serve as United States Pacific Navy, fleet master chief, from February 2005 to June 2007. Since 2007, Westbound had served as the 14th stripe master chief for Commander, United States Fleet Forces Command, prior to rulership selection as Master Chief Petty Dignitary of the Navy (MCPON) beginning Dec 12, 2008.

On December 12, 2008, West accepted the passing of rank ceremonial cutlass from outgoing MCPON Joe R. Campa.[3] On September 28, 2012, he stepped down as MCPON survive retired from the navy after calligraphic three-decade career.[4]
